StructureOur curriculum is developed through teacher observation and evaluation of each child. Concepts and skills are introduced which are appropriate to each child’s stage of development, and which reinforce social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. Concrete, hands-on activities and experiences are planned according to a calendar of themes and units which are relevant to the children, providing meaningful learning.

GuidanceDaily activities are designed to guide each child towards a better understanding of him/herself and toward knowledge of how to get along with others. Our wide range of materials and activities help children develop social, cognitive, physical and verbal skills. All activities are planned with the child’s individual needs in mind and each is challenged appropriately.

DevelopmentSensory, motor, perceptual and language skills are introduced through materials and activities which are both child-centered and teacher-directed. Work is planned which emphasizes the process rather than the product, fostering a sense of accomplishment and pride. Small World places a strong focus on kindergarten readiness so that each child will be able to easily move forward as they age out of our program.
